drivers door deadlocked

Hi Guys,



As mentioned in "Introduce yourself", I've bought myself a 2000X 1.8 MPi mk2 MGF as a project.



Unfortunately, it has a couple of problems including a crack in the rear plastic screen and the dreaded deadlocked drivers door.



Can anyone offer me any advice on how to get this door unlocked? I'm happy to replace the lock when done (indeed, sounds like I'll need to), but just after some guidance or is it really "rip of door card and hit and hope"?



Car is garaged so should be able to work on it in the relative warmth!
