External wastegate

Just had a proper look at the internal wastegate on the GT2056 and it looks a bit on the small side, it's only about 15mm diameter.

The general rule is that the more boost you run you can get away with having a smaller wastegate as more exhaust gas will be going through the turbine rather than around it, and I'm sure a lot of R&D goes into designing turbos and working out what size internal wastegate they need.

However I'm not sure they planned on someone fitting it to an L series and trying to run near 200bhp through it lol...

I've got a few concerns like boost creep, fitting an external gate would be no problem as I've got a spare manifold to work with, and if I was to use the internal gate I've got to make a bracket for the actuator anyway so either way some work is involved.

The only thing is it's extra money that I'd rather not spend, a good quality external is expensive but if it needs it then I'll get one.

So what do people think, just fit it and use the internal wastegate and don't worry about it, or go external?
