Failure to start
Tipped out this morning to look at a Facelift Rover 25 one of the family is driving, and which failed to start last night.
Changed the battery, as the one in the car had run down with all the failed start attempts, but still no joy.
Whipped the plugs out - all covered in petrol, so dried them off and checked the sparks which were fine.
Refitted them and it slowly gasped into life with the MIL flashing away and loads of smoke out of the back. Turned it off and checked a few other things then started it again and it cleared its throat and sounded as good as new.
So the only fault appeared to be that it was well and truly flooded.
Any common problems that can cause this?
