Hello from the Limousin in France
Hi , my name is Steve and for some time I had been looking to buy an MG TF to use over here in France in the summer months. Recently, when over in the UK (Gloucestershire) visiting family, I saw a TF135 advertised for sale not far from where we were staying with my sister. So on a wet Wednesday I went along to 'have a look'! Of course I bought it!!
Something about the colour , Le Mans Green , and the green hood rang a bell so I did a bit of research and came to the conclusion that it is a 2002 TF135 'Sprint' model. It has all the sprint extras down to the bright pack and smokestone dash. BUT, I was later a little miffed that neither the V5 nor the handbook mentions that it is a Sprint! (Is there any way to establish if it is a Sprint, do any records exist from the factory? (Vin no .6069** September 2002, Reg No. LJ 52 ***)
At the moment the TF is still at my garage in the UK while I try to sort out interesting things like insurance and left hand drive headlights, etc, but am really looking forward to collecting it and driving it back over to France.
Over the years I have owned many different MG models including 1947 YA saloon(2), Midget (2), MGB GT, MG Metro, MG Maestro (3), and now the TF. I am also in the middle of building a Mk1 GT40 replica...but that is a whole different animal!!
Glad to be back in the MG fold.
Regards
Steve
