Water Pump - bolt through from rear timing cover (behind dipstick) - rounded off

I was going to change water pump as well as timing belt in my 2005 1.4 K, but there is a bolt that screws in from the back through the rear timing cover (behind dipstick) and into the pump - I used an 8mm sided socket but the damn head rounded off. ******!



Any ideas on how I could recover from this, or maybe it would be best to leave the old factory pump in.

Nothing wrong with it as yet. 70,000 miles.
