Another overheating issue, Faulty cap???
Hello, i recently had some overheating problems with my Tf and thought it was only a matter of correct bleeding. But now that ive spent a few weekends bleeding and flushing with dish washer, inspecting jiggle valves, raising the rear of the car while bleeding, and all sort of procedures to avoid overhating, it still overheats after a hard 20-25 minutes drive.
Before every test run, heat is coming out of the vents and everything seems quite normal for the first 15-20 mins, but as temperature starts raising and gets above the middle mark until 3/4 mark, hot air stops coming out and cold (not so cold) air starts coming out.
This time i thought i had tried everything. I dismissed the possibility of a stuck thermostat because its only a month old, and hgf because now my tf has a few months old mls gasket.
this last run i arrived home with a temp of 3/4 mark, front fan running at max speed (i suppose), and right after shutting the car down, i head coolant or bubbles inside the expansion tank. The car was still very hot and i saw a small trace of water coming from the cap:
I took the photo around 2 o 3 minutes later so the picture doesnt show that much water but there was more water than in the picture.
So, my question is, is it possible that because of a small leak from the cap the system lost pressure and overheated? I hope it is because i tried everything else and already bought 2 new caps and will wait for them to arrive to Mexico.
thanks.
