2003 MG ZS 2.0 TD - Missfire / Stalling
Hi All.
Today I got a phone call from my wife in DEFCON 3, saying that she has broken down and the car will not start running it just miss-fires and stalls.
Sure enough once I got to the car it started 1st time, but was extremely lumpy running, and did not take long to stall.
When trying to idle the engine as said above is extremely lumpy, and even trying to hold the engine at fast idle the engine would still be lumpy and just cut out.
Disconnecting the MAF sensor does not make any difference to how the engine runs, it is still extremely lumpy and stalls.
The engine does not stay lumpy and stall all the time, some times the engine will idle just fine, and then without any warning just stop.
The car is a 2003 MS ZS 2.0 TD, I believe this is the L-Series engine.
Can I please have your thoughts and suggestions.
Thanks for your time.
Best Regards.
