Emissions fail

Wondered if you could help me, car has just failed its MOT test (Rover 214si)



Results for emissions were:



Fast Idle test

CO - 0.71 (failed max 0.3)

HC - 68

Lambda - 1.021



Second Fast Idle test

CO - 0.51 (failed max 0.3)

HC - 67

Lambda - 1.002



Natural Idle

CO - 0.48



What is the most likely cause.
