More shock n spring questions
I'm confused about what it is that makes the difference. Is it the springs or the shocks????????????????
I have a 2002 TF160 and I want to soften up the ride without messing up the cornering. When you realise the Vito van in the mirror is still there as you come out of the twisties, the underlying suspicion that these cars are seriously lacking in the sports car handling stakes comes strikingly to the front. Surely these little cars should easily give a standard saloon car a good run for it's money, never mind a van. I can get a 1500 80 horse Megan through the above mentioned bends quite a bit quicker than the 160TF. Even after full four wheel alignment and good tyres.
Should I be changing the shocks or the springs? What does what?
I know the standard shocks are very small capacity compared to the Bilsteins and Spax, which would explain the poor ride, but would replacing the shocks alone be a good thing or only half the job?
What results can be expected by replacing the standard springs instead of the shocks?
Val.
