Me again.

the nature of the gunk at the prt, you cleared is indicative of the cause... brown porridge is a combination of oxidised steel, oil and water.. ie rust, water and oil mixed together.. and maybe other stuff like rad leak prevention or leak prevention additive. so you clear the gunk, the immediate problem, goes away. but the fault isnt... its hidden... and that is why folks say head gasket, when in effect the exact cause isnt known.. only common indicators are,, pointers are not the cause until its known --- they are just pointers... it wasnt until my f failed emissions at the mot.. that the head gasket was certified as the cause,, no oil in the coolant,, but obvious signs of coolant exit from the head... that gasket had failed, but wasnt stopping the engine from running or the ecu from making mixture adjustment.. the car ran fine.. no idling problems, no hesitation... it just wouldnt meet emissions, and thats because the fuel wasnt burning well.. it had coolant in it... the gasket had failed..

i dont say that is your problem too... but i suspect the gunk you removed that temporarily solved the problem is indicative of the true cause... the ecu cant solve the problem you have.. and so the engine doesnt run properly..

but there is no indication you have this moment, that you are loosing coolant ( my f lost coolant for a year in small amounts ) so if your not loosing coolant, have no oil in the coolant, have no obd faults, like lambda for example... then maybe still its not hgf, but a combination of other faults, that the ecu cant cope with, but doesnt give you any obd readings...

do you have an obd reader? do you see any faults?

Let's block ads! (Why?)

Me again.
