I know this subject has been done heaps of times before but just finally tracked down a leak point which I was lucky to find.
On the drivers side rear quarter panel inside the boot there is a plastic box (a bit hidden if you have reversing sensors as the electronic box is in front of it.) which is an air vent and has 3 small flaps which keep the water out but allows air in.
Had a look at it and it appeared slightly dislodged,at the bottom so pushed it back thinking it would all be good, but not so.
Pulled the box out to find the top flap not sealing as it had become obstructed by a clip on the bumper and the rubber seal around the box had a couple of suspect points.
The leak would cover the flat panel on the side of the boot and eventually would drain down into the spare tyre area.
Siliconed up the seal around the box and all is well.
Unless you knew it, it almost looks like it was a leak from either the tail light or one of the chrome strip clips.
