Rover owners: Recent odd electrical issues

Okay, so up until Today, everything was working fine but as of now, theres a few odd things going on as follows:

1. Super locking not working - did before. Car will lock once but not twice
2. Indicators not flashing upon locking at all - will flash upon unlocking and work fine during normal driving for turning
3. Dash clock - worked fine all the time and kept time - now when ignition not on, it stops but keeps time when ignition on
4. Boot warning light on constantly when ignition on even though boot lid is shut.

As I said, all of the above were working fine last night and before - the only thing I've done Today was to remove the instrument cowel/bezel to search for a connector for upgrading my manual mirrors to electric ones.

During doing so, I noticed that there was a loose wire coming from the loom that I am not sure should be connected or if I disturbed something. Pics below of what I mean - pics taken from steering column just above the key ignition:

Shows the sheathed wires (two yellow ones) near a socket but without a plug

I'm not sure what these are for or if they should be connected - its the only thing I could think of but I'm open to advice from anyone!

This one shows the empty socket I am referring to where it seems the wire should go, but as I mentioned, there is no clear plug there like the plug above it (RHS of the steering column)
