I have a 1997 MGF VVC in British Racing Green and done only 28,000 miles from new as it only gets used locally, although it has had one Head gasket failure and new front suspension spheres!

My local garage maintains the car and they have been advised by Mobil Oil that their Mobil Super 3000 XT SAE 5W-40 fully synthetic engine oil is suitable for the MGF and many other car makes?

Has any owners come across this recommendation or what is their take on engine oil recommendations?
