Clutch Master Cylinder
Clutch Master Cylinder
Hello all
I'm Paul and have just joined after giving up on garages. I had the master cylinder changed the other day as the clutch would barely disengage. After the change the clutch wouldn't disengage at all and the slave was shot. Fortunately the garage couldn't fit it in until next week. I somehow managed to get it home before the battery went flat.
I currently have the car on axle stands and just about ready to lower sub frame.
While working today there is significant evidence that the old master cylinder pipework was left in situ and they only changed the master cylinder, evidence being no marks around grommet and wear marks where the pipe is clamped. The clincher was that the master cylinder was empty but the condom in the top was full. I suspect that they have over pressurised when back bleeding because they didn't know what they were doing. Is there anything that can be done about the garage.
At least I'll be able to change everything required now anyway without dreaded labour charge.
Paul
