Dreaded Water Loss

Hi,
My 1.8 45 Auto has just started to loose water. About half a pint on an 8 mile journey.

I can't see any leakage. The oil filler is shiny clean, as is the oil. There is no smell or oily film in the header tank.
I am thinking to start with looking at the inlet manifold. Or rather, getting somebody to look at it.

What do you think?
