It all started when my car would judder when pulling off, this eventually got worse and my car was showing signs of a blocked exhaust. Surging exhaust gasses, slightly louder (then normal) when revved and a slight burning smell. Instinctively I thought the cat had collapsed, but after removing it, it seemed fine. I now think it's my backbox based on the awful internal condition (full of corrosion) and that it has lost all (or most) of its packing on a dual carriage way...

My question to you guys is if it is blocked, I fancy upgrading it (Its booked in to powerflow for Tuesday), maybe to a straight pipe or a more sporty back box. I'm also planning on decatting (second cat) the exhaust as well.

Given that if this is the case the exhaust will only have a precat and a resonator will it be obscenely loud?
