Okay. Picked up another MGF and am doing it up for a Christmas present for my son. The central locking was inoperable, but the key fob is able to arm and disarm the alarm. Took out the lock from the drivers door and stripped it down. It didn't have a motor! I'm presuming this Y reg was bought new without the central locking option. However, it has the full wiring loom going to it. My question is this... When you unlock the car with the key and open the door, the alarm goes off. You can stop it with the fob. This is annoying. As there is no central locking, can I just leave the loom disconnected? I realise the interior lights won't activate, but I can live with that. Thoughts?
