MGF Trophy All instruments fail except petrol guage

Fuse 1 (under dash) keeps blowing particularly when I go over a bump. All instruments then stop working together with power steering, electric windows and probably other things. All lights, Radio and heater keep working. To compound problem with no thermometer gauge to show it, engine starts to overheat (could be a separate problem but maybe the engine fan stops working too)
