Front lower wishbones
I know that the workshop manual says that the tightening of the lower wishbone bolts MUST be done once the car is sitting on the ground - BUT -
I've just fitted polybushes, which aren't made in the same way as the original parts.
The original bushes are a tight fit in the wishbones and the crush tubes are bonded inside the rubber bushes - thus I can understand the workshop manual requirements, as they aren't free to rotate.
The polybushes are different, the polybush is supposed to slide on the crush tube, there is a criss cross pattern inside the polybush to hold the grease just for this purpose.
I would think that in this case tightening the bolts before the car is on the ground shouldn't change anything.
Any comments??
PS a How To is underway.
