220D drivers lock issue, not central locking.

I've seen there are lots of threads on central locking issues, but the lowly 220D does not have central locking so I've made a new thread. Yesterday I went to unlock the car and it didn't work. The lock barrel feels the same, but it isn't engaging with the lock mechanism and the door remains locked. At the moment I'm having to get into the car through the passenger side. When you're inside the car you can try and unlock it but pulling up on the lock knob doesn't work, it won't unlock the door and it just wants to return to its locked position. Holding it up while trying the door handle doesn't do anything either.



I'm not looking forward to taking the door card out with the door shut as I'm guessing its going to result in a broken door card. Any suggestions or previous experience with a non-central locking issue like this? Cheers guys.
