Engine fan issues

The fan on my 55 plate MG ZTT 1.8 Petrol had been staying on for much to long after the car was turned off, culminating in it staying on to long on Saturday and running the battery dowm.



I have taken it to a garage and they have changed the Cooling Temp Sensor but the problem is still occuring.



Today the battery was totally dead again.



I am currently charging the battery but any ideas on what to do about the fan. Is it the EMC?
