K series 1.8 turbo in zs
Right I no there is quite a lot of posts on a 1.8 turbo conversions on a few different forums but a lot seem to be from the t series
I am more interested in the k series from the 75/zt
Now they seems to be a bit of confusion around this iva that or there is a lot of miss informed people commenting about this topic
Of the many many post I have read I am still no closer to the facts of the convertion
The one thing I am sure on is that both the zs or zt ecu can not successfully run this convertion and will need another system now I believe the best system is that made from z and f
Now the confusion lies in the actual fitting of the engine is it a case that the engine will fit on the same mountings been both k series or not
and also been confused is the gearbox fitting and choice and flywheel
Now the one that I have seen done the turbo was so close to the radiator that he had to move it as far forward as he could and swap the fans for slimline ones is this the case on all of them or just the t series or just the k series and does this in it's self create any problems in cooling
Now the next part which seems to be a bit of the unknown is the the manifold and exhausts is there a bolt on part or do you have to have one made as the one I have seen had
also has anyone done this convertion I am looking at doing
And give me any pointers and I have set aside £1200 for this convertion but was hopeing to have ample have I under estimated the work and expense involved
I do intend to do some of the work my self but not been a machanic I will have to get help in doing the the technical stuff
Am not looking for stupid power I am after 190 Bhp ish but would be happy with any thing from 170 - 200. But would this engine cope with this power and still remain reliable inuf to use as a daylie drive
Now does anyone no as a fact what the truth is behind this convertion
And cost and also what it's like to live with
