Starting problem

Ok so lately my car has been a pain to start, turn the key & usually nothing happens. The only way it usually starts is by holding the key in the furthest position around the ignition barrel. Last night it got worse, turn the key & heard a single click from the dash same noise ypu get with a flat battery a single click

.. it eventually started after some time. Hellpppp
