ECU Failure?
Hope someone can help me out with this!
Other half was driving the car today & it started running lumpy. RAC came out & read fault code for cylinder 3 misfire & diagnosed it was probably the coil pack. Towed the car home & replaced with another coil pack known to be good. No difference. He also swapped the coils around & again no difference, nor a spark from the coil pack on cylinder 3. He suggested a possible ECU fault. Ive taken the part of the loom off that feeds the coils & continuity is fine. Any ideas what else I can test / rule out?
Strangely a coil pack failed 2 months ago & I replaced both of them to be on the safe side. Purely coincidental?
Not really sure what to do now. Its a facelift model, so I expect anything relaing to the ECU will need a specialist & looks like an expensive fix.
Any ideas on any of this?
Thanks!
