Silly tight inlet crankshaft gear nut!!!! Please help!

I have all the bolts undone to take out the crankshaft cover and head but this nut is so tight that is about to brake the gear and not to be undone!!!! Is an extension enough, can I use a torch to heat it? Anything special I should try?????
