4000rpm Rev Limit

I'll explain more shortly, but after having some work done (with battery disconnected) why would the engine now have a rev limit of 4000rpm?



It appears to be cutting the spark at those revs as it will flood and cut out if you keep persisting. It will restart if you hold the throttle down (like a flooded engine).



Any help appreciated.



It is a 2005 MG ZT 190 V6.



I have disconnected - all with no differences at all - the lambda, MAP, VIS motors etc. No difference.
