Water in my footwell (Coolant leak?)

Hello Guys,

Since i bought my MG ZR 1.4 2005 i have always had a coolant leak. I changed the head gasket + Water pump + Inlet manifold the whole shabang, as it was never done when purchased. I have looked inside the engine bay many times to find no evidence of coolant leak.

Today i removed the passenger seat to fix the upholstery. I had to disconect a cable that turns the seat belt light on. (A cut out in the carpet to accommodate said cable). I stuck my hand under the carpet and could feel a lot of water (Top of carpet dry).

I suspect that my heater matrix has a leak and leaking into the passenger footwell (Haven't check drivers).

I am a little lost at where to first start.... so i have a couple of questions;

1) Is this common? and if so where would be best to start looking (Common part that leaks...)

2) Could there be an issue with water getting into my car from the rain? (No evidence of sunroof leak)

3) Could you direct me the a step by step on how to remove the dash if need be to find said leak?

Any help would be greatfull... Sorry for all the questions...
