2003 ZTT V6 constant misfire
2003 ZTT V6 constant misfire
While driving at (legal) motorway speeds the EML flashed a couple of times, then came on permanently.
I pulled over asap and it was soon apparent that the engine wasn’t firing on all cylinders.
Drove home and as I was going away this week I took it the local garage did the following:
They believe there is probably an air leak into the manifold near to cylinder 6 but they couldn’t pin point where without dismantling so at this point they stopped and advised me to find a KV6 specialist.
Any thoughts on what investigate next or similar common problems affecting cylinder 6

Drove home and as I was going away this week I took it the local garage did the following:
- Ran diagnostics which shows miss fire on cylinder 6
- Replaced the plug
- Tried a new coil tried but it did not solve problems so the original re-fitted;
- Did Compression test carried out and cylinder 6 same others
- carried out 3 block tests found no evidence of leak
- Found + fixed a Leak in a vacuum pipe T-joints repaired;

One final thing; may be a red herring - the temperature gauge has always been exactly mid-range once the car is warmed up, but now it has started read below a quarter; coolant level is normal.
