I have just bought a 2001 MGF steptrnic that has only done 1600 miles and only 300 miles in the last 8 years, after driving some 8 miles the revs shot up and the gear box had gone into 1st gear and the transmission fault ( AMBER ) and the engine bay overheat ( RED ) lights came on the car had gone into LIMP mode
The rear FAN was running the engine bay feels very hot.
When could the box works fine for a few miles until the temperature rises. Any help will be appreciated
