Rover owners: rover cost cutting

here is another example of the penny pinching MG/Rover did in the later years. i picked up some honda fixings today. the pic below shows the handa and rover fitting for the screws that secure door card handle to the door. bot yellow parts are the same and do the same job but the honda one has the metal piece for screw to tighten on, i know its not a big thing but i have done jobs on rover,s where the screw has been over tightened and just keeps turning. this can lead to a rattling door card as the screw wont tighten fully.

something and nothing i know but how much did they actually save with this ?

another rattle i have found on later car is rear seats on hatch, there is a small foam gasket the fits over the latch where seat secure,s. on earlier car these were rubber and mutch better, i have used the ones from a wedge on my mk2 zs.
