Exhaust manifold gasket, manifold-to-turbo studs

Among the travesties heaped on my 620ti when its head gasket was replaced (by so-called experts!) some of the exhaust manifold-to-head threads were stripped, and helicoils inserted (I suspect they tried to use the nut-seized-to-stud as if it was a bolt). The gasket started leaking some time later and I changed it, and fitted proper allen-socket studs, but was wary of overtightening them and the nuts in case they pulled out (how do you fit a torque wrench to an allen key? :) )

Anyway, after a while that one started blowing too! I happened to be passing Eurocarparts recently and they said they could get the gasket, and duly did. Unfortunately I didn't pay much attention to it, and after I fitted it and drove 130 miles, it was sounding like a tractor! I now realise the gasket they sold me was the plain felt-like material with no metal fire-rings around the ports, and it blew through ridiculously quickly.

I now have the proper one from Rimmer Bros. but one problem I had fitting the duff one was that one of the helicoils came out on the stud, and I'm worried this will happen again, so I want to be prepared to remove the manifold from the turbo so I can fit a new helicoil (with "permanent" nut-lock), but those twelve-point nuts look like they could be a problem - possibly bringing the stud out with them, so I want to be prepared and have new studs and nuts ready.

I found the proper manifold-turbo gasket (stainless steel with a crush ring) but the studs and nuts are elusive. Anyone know where I can get them?

There's a sign that something whilte (gun gum?) was used on the manifold-turbo joint, but I've been advised the new gasket should be fitted dry.

Any further advice on this job? (I have a 10 x 1.5mm Helicoil kit at the ready, and I'm trying to find a really good long 10mm ring-spanner for those nuts).

Cheers,

Howard
