Headlight problem, any info please?

Been noticing since I bought my car that i didnt seem to have very good vision in the dark with my lights on. I checked the bulbs and are all working. I drove up to my garage door and noticed that my headlights are out of line!? Is there any way of correcting this? My headlight level switch works and both headlights move up and down, but are not level with each other. Cheers
