car not start HELP

W 2000 rover 25 gti



I went out in car yesterday everything was fine UNTIL

i tried to use it a few hours later NO JOY



NOW BOTH fobs DONT unlock doors or turn the immobilizer off when i try to start it

i just get beeping when i turn the key



about 2 years ago i replaced the battery in both fobs

also the car does not get used much each week



IS the receiver broken ?
