Few Questions about MGZR 2.0TD engine

my old gal is a little tired now, recently did a clutch change, had to do it twice as the dam think broke due to plastic clip getting caught, but yeh shes all good in that department now.

but i noticed some stuff.

i question how my clutch cable is routed in the engine bay. Does anyone have a pic or 2 as to where it should be seated? was previously changed by my brother and i doubt it was placed in right place and i feel that this might cause some free play in pedal in terms of adjustments.

steering rack has a small seep on it and it does loose fluid near the pump also. pump seems fine so long as i fill it up but wondering if there is a service kit for rack or pump? rather than replacing whole units.

the most important one

Turbo i understand that as part of the design they are suppsoed to leak oil slightly to lube the turbo?

Mine is always and has always been very oily externally since 5k miles now she done 96k :) i have noticed that if i leave car sat for weekend and turn her over she turns over but doesn't fire for 20 seconds, when she does she puffs out a plume of smoke kinda blueish then effectively clears her throat and runs fine. sometimes she will start straight away and revs will be low on idle as she clears her guts out.

So is there a control for this oil leak? is it something that can failor pehaps integral to the engine it self? or is it more likely that my turbo needs replacing? she does seem to drink a fair bit of oil lately with no sign of oil leaks in engine bay or under car except for the turbo it self. and goes from MAX level to min in about a 2 weeks.

Any helps with regards this would be greatly appreciated..

oh and for the record if anyone ever asks if a TD engine can survive a hydro lock, mine did 3 times in 2 weeks lol :) **** lucky i was ripped out that crappy box filter and fitted a nice cone to stay above any residual flood water lines....
