Tension wrenches
Tension wrenches - or Torque wrenches if you prefer - or whatever the term is you use.
Back in the Jurassic, my Dad bought me a good quality tension wrench. I've used it on and off over the years and it's always served me well - it's one of the click off type, not one of the pointer types. Recently, I did some work using said tension wrench, and either the wrench was understating things (ie, I was applying too much torque) or there were problems with the bolts I was doing up.
How does a humble back yard mechanic test his tension wrench to make sure it's giving him the right answers?
