MGTF Body kit for export

Hi all,

Does anyone have any leads for getting an MG TF body kit (front, sides, rear skirting) maybe a spoiler etc. Looking for a company that can export the kit to me here in Malaysia.

Searched high and low and can't find anything here, but want to make my car a bit more unique (even though there are probably only 20 or so left in the country lol).

Thanks,

Dan

MG ZS TD modding info please

Hi all,

I am planning/hoping on getting a MK2 ZS TD as soon as i can find a decent one, and naturally i'm already planning on modifying it! I've been looking around the forums and think i have a pretty rough idea of what i will/should be doing but would like a bit of clarification and possibly more info/help on what mods are worth doing and how hard they would be to do myself. Also which would be the best order to do the mods in (if any) as i won't have the funds or time to do it all at once.

These are the mods i'm thinking of doing:

SDI Injectors (easy enough to fit myself using a guide? best to buy SDI injectors or get mine converted?)

EGR Blanking (seems easy to do? is/can it be disabled with remap or does it have to be blanked?)

MAFAM (digimaf required? or only if original degraded?)

Crank turbo up to 19PSI (easy to do? do i need to buy/fit a gauge to know when it is 19psi or is there some other indication?)

Turbo outlet pipe (make a big difference fitting a "performance" part? easy to do myself?)

Air filter (induction kit worth it? or just a high flow panel filter?)

decat (seems easy enough to do myself? Make a big difference?)

cat-back exhaust system (make a big enough difference to be worth doing? recommended parts, price?)

remap (I'm in bedfordshire and would prefer a mobile remap rather than sending off my ECU, not sure if any Reidy remap reps are local? do after all other mods to ensure i'm getting maximum potential with other mods?)

Will the TD produce a fairly nice sound with these and/or other mods? i know i wont get a sound anything like my MK2 ZR 105 with induction kit and janspeed exhaust...but anything close would be nice :)

Any/All help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

TF with MIL code - PO340

MIL has come on with me a couple of times now, first time it had cleared by the time we got the computer on it and no code was found, but it appeared again today & I was able to pull a code from the eBay Bluetooth scanner I bought last week.

It's showing a Pending Fault of PO340 which Torque (OBDII reader software) suggests is either camshaft sensor A or a misfire.

In the forums experience, what would be the most likely cause? I'm planning to get plugs & leads changed shortly anyway, but is the sensor a likely contender too?

Hello chaps, been a while since I've been on here and asking for help haha.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times before, but we're going to do a head gasket change next week, but where is the best place to buy the set?

Loads on ebay I know, but I am kinda sceptical about some sets being cheap copies. I have done a bit of searching and members recommend gaskets for classics on ebay. Of course there is euro car parts and I assume Land Rover dealers sell a set too, but probably charge a lot for it. Get what you pay for maybe, but if the same or similar quality set is sold online I would be a fool to pay stealer prices.

So where have you bought yours??? Many thanks, nice to back on this forum. ;)

Rover 75 v6 won't start - first time ever. Audio attached

Hi everyone, audio diagnostic required please. Quick mp3 file here: http://ift.tt/1mnImQC

The car is a 2002 v6 2.5L

For the first time in 3 years the car bogged down on ignition today and didn't fire up. Turned key again and got a weird, racey kind of sound when the starter motor turns. It sounds and feels like it's not turning the engine at all. I'm used to the deep purr when the v6 fires up.

I'm hoping someone can give me some idea so I can figure out what to do next. I have RAC at home cover, but if it's a massive job then I can be prepared and sort out a friendly local garage in case the RAC man suggests a tow. Or maybe it's a simple fix. I'm in the Edinburgh area by the way.

Thanks for any tips,

ABS Warning Light On - MOT Tomorrow!

I've had ny TF 135 off the road for over a year now due to various problems and lack of time, but I've put in maybe 140+ hours since Xmas and tomorrow is the last day I can get it MOT'd without SORNing it - and I was doing so well until tonight...

Basically, I took the big multipin connector off the ABS unit (big metal block, lots of greenish brake pipes entering, left side of bonnet space as you look in) to get at the rusty bracket below. I never got that far as it's not a MOT item, but I did undo the two bolts holding the block down to the bracket and lifted it up slightly.

Tonight, I replaced the connector ready for a per-MOT test run aaaaaand ... I have the yellow ABS light on the dash lit up...

I suppose this is a fail? Anyone got any tips for what the problem might be whilst I plough through the search function on the forum :0(

I have taken the connector off and replaced it again, before anyone suggests that.

Happy to be back

Picked my TF160 up yesterday.I was missing driving and messing around with my F so I decided to get another.

It has a good mileage 36000 and is in pretty good nick but the body work needs some attention(rusty inner wheel arches and a few dings)

An alloy refurb is required so that's on my list, but the tyres are all pretty new poxys

New belts and pump as soon as I can because there is no history but the brakes all look new.

It is pretty standard with only one mod I found today while waxoyling(the Mike Satur gear thingy bearings)

It drives great and the suspension isn't as harsh as expected.

Can't wait to get out and about and looking forward to the next local run.

Here are a couple of snaps from my cleaning session today.

Impact wrench - very useful!

I needed to changing my top ball joints and following CJJ's excellent how too's, I set about doing so.

One of the things I needed however was an impact wrench as i couldn't get the 46mm (1"-13/16) to undo.

So I ordered:

http://ift.tt/1gQVC0M

First time I used it, it undid the top ball joint nylock and then the ball joint as if wasn't there. Very effortless and I have to say so far on the other jobs I've used it for it has saved me a lot of time!

Yes its not the cheapest but its a good brand and does what I need it too.

Wish I had, had it when I did the underfloor coolant pipes, the underfloor tray would have been a breeze!

Another thing I've been looking for was a extra deep 46mm to deal with with TF rear ball joints, everyone I have spoken to however has either gotten around it like I did or 'modified' their socket. I probably won't need it again, however If anyone finds one, I'd be interested to know!

Thought I remembered reading that full leather seats are a little bit rare in the Rover 25, so I wanted to give a heads-up that there's a set in a 5dr mk1 Rover 25 in Looms scrapyard in Spondon/Derby. Was there on Saturday nosing around and spotted them, might be of use to someone :) looked in pretty good nick, wear on the driver's bolster but not a massive gash in the leather or anything.

They normally charge £20 per seat, so £80 for a set sounds like a good deal looking at past sale prices.

If I'm wrong and they're actually not that rare then feel free to ignore this!

Pic below - sorry for the quality, had to use my gf's phone camera. Should've got a pic of the drivers' side but was in a bit of a rush.

19 psi confusion...

Hi all i recently got an mg zs turbo diesel.

I have been researching about upping the boost to 19psi is a good mod, i am confused over the fueling side though as all the threads about increasing the boost pressure dont mention any change to the fueling side.

So basically i need to know can i up my boost to 19psi and not worry about the fueling side, is there enough fuel already for 19psi.

Or do i need sdi injectors/remap.

I have recently fitted a new maf as it wouldnt rev past 4k, it now pulls well low down goes flat between 2500 - 3500 and then picks up again to 4500.

thanks in advanced

Graeme

What would you guys do?

I know a little bit bout the k-series engine as I've had a few but never had an F/TF

Any help is most appreciated

Thanks in advance :)

Re/setting Alarm after disconnecting the Battery!

I've seen many threads on alarm resetting problems/faults,

`but one thing I have noticed' is having to disconnect our `tomcat/coupe's' battery in its periods of been stood up to save on discharge, that the order of how you reset the alarm is the main thing, on reconnecting the battery (the same if the battery is flat also!)

I find as a result that its best to get the alarm fob to be talking working to the cars master alarm unit, before entering the car to attempt to restart it! also if you can't get this to happen this highlights the other faults being the case, it does take a few seconds to react when the alarm system has been powered off (this goes for both batteries been flat/the cars & the alarm fobs too)

NB obviously change the remote key fobs batteries regularly, for easy use of the alarm setting/disarming... is a good thing to do..!!

6 months in....

Well, it's been about 6 months since I purchased the TF for my wife. The trouble is I love it so I have become the main user and 'tinkerer' on it.

When I originally posted I had some great responses from members around what parts on the car were not original to the Cool Blue edition it is. Whilst some I like as they are (such as the glossy instrument panel), others I have set about changing with the seats and door cards being one of them, a bargain that I picked up for £30 all in. I have also changed the windbreak as I had a small hole in the old one. Sold the old one for the same price I paid for the new one!

I have a few places of rust in the normal spaces that I could do with some advice on...I will start a new post for this

I'm still on the lookout for some Abingdon wheels and a Momo gear knob but I am truly pleased with my little TF and the fun it gives me each time I drive it.

Here it is so far.....
